Supervision

I have provided psychotherapy supervision for student counsellors and psychotherapists since 1998 and delivered clinical supervision to the Company Council Representatives at Nissan Motor plant Sunderland.

The key to good supervision is allowing students to grow into their own working practice. Helping them build their confidence in the successes they have and allowing them develop as therapists.

Students need to be supported in adopting psychotherapeutic theories and modes of working, using theory to support and build the way they work as individuals. Rather than imposing any theoretical approach that could restrict the way they need to work.

Supervision is an important place to discuss mistakes and learning from them in a safe non-judgmental environment. Supervision fees are agreed on the student’s individual financial circumstances and average £35 per 50-minute session.
